You need new ways of maintaining clarity through confusion and getting more from ‘no more’.
Resource management
Resource management should be a smooth, efficient and effective process that gives you more
time to devote to leading teaching and learning.
The Financial Management System (FMS) suite of modules in SIMS has been developed specifically for the education sector. It’s a proven and effective solution to budget planning, accounting, payments and all other aspects of school finances.
Within FMS, modules such as Equipment Register allow you to manage and maintain a complete inventory of all the equipment in your school.
It also links to SIMS partner HCSS’s FPS.Net and FPSadvance.Net software to reduce the level of data entry required to meet your local authority’s LMS delegated scheme and link the School Development Plan to the budgeting process.
Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is a software solution of SIMS designed to manage
the administrative procedures required to support the Government’s Education Maintenance Allowance Scheme.
Nova-T6 enables you to quickly design the best curriculum and schedule a timetable that maximises the efficient use of teachers and other resources.
SIMS can link directly to the DCSF online procurement portal and marketplace, OPEN, which enables schools to purchase goods and services via the web.
This will ensure that users of SIMS FMS can automatically download online purchase orders and invoices reducing the need to rekey this information.
SIMS also contains many more solutions that help schools manage their day-to-day tasks more
easily and meet their statutory obligations to the Government, such as completing the termly School Census and School Workforce Census.
Extended schools
The use of technology in schools is already a complex area. The implementation of extended schools will increase this complexity still further.
Capita Children’s Services is developing SIMS to be able to offer secondary schools additional technology and consultancy resources to cope with more users, different requirements and levels
of authority, fluctuation in usage times, security issues and staff training and development.
