Gather, measure and share student information to help students reach their full potential

Track individual performance, manage the ‘whole’

Better assessment tracking ensures student progress and attainment is measured, making teaching more effective and the whole learning experience more meaningful.

A more structured and manageable system for assessing and tracking student progress.

Whole school engagement and support from teachers, parents and students in setting targets and working to meet them.

More effective use of data to give a complete picture of your students.

Key features

  • Tracks student progress - Predicted attainment, individual targets and termly assessments are recorded in the SIMS Tracking Progress marksheets, as Marks, Ages, Grades and Comments.
  • Colour coded tracking - ‘Traffic lights’ colour coding reveals whether students are making good progress, falling behind or ‘stuck’.
  • Customise the tracking system to suit your school - There is no limit to the type of assessment that can be carried out and recorded, provided the result can be expressed in terms of a Mark, Grade, Age or Comment. Marksheets can be customised to the requirements of your school’s assessment policy, for example, six-termly tracking or to alter the predicted progress line.
  • Teacher marksheet screen - Class performance is shown on one screen, which summarises average group progress and can be filtered, sorted and customised by the teacher to focus on specific target groups.
  • Automatic student tracking grids - Assessment results recorded in the SIMS Progress Tracking marksheets translate directly into tracking grids, showing student progress term by term and year by year, and saving you from re-creating these. Grids display percentages below, on or above target, giving immediate analysis of class or cohort progress against school or national targets.
  • Creates full end of year student reports for parents - SIMS Assessment can automatically compile professional interim student reports based upon recorded grades, in Microsoft Word. These are then stored in the student record for a complete and accessible history.  Using the updated comment banks, writing student reports is even easier.
  • Analyse performance - SIMS Assessment makes use of the data you’re already entering to review performance by subject, group or over time. National progression lines are provided to enable comparisons between your school and national averages, at whole school, class or individual student level.
  • Maintains a historical record - SIMS maintains a complete record of all assessments recorded over each student’s life in the school, providing a complete picture to see how students progress over time.
  • Manage the examination process - The process involved in managing your external and internal exams, such as seating, results distribution and analysis can be performed in SIMS.
  • Flexible working - Teachers can enter the grades and comments over the internet at home via SIMS Learning Gateway.
  • Shares student data around a Collegiate - With the addition of SIMS Partnership Xchange, student data can automatically be shared around a collegiate.
